Welcome to our 32nd annual sale of Simmental and Simm/Angus genetics. We are very grateful for your support and we look forward to serving you in the future. We believe that you are the cattlemen and women who raise the best cattle in North America and it is our goal to help you continue to do that. We’ve been in the bull business for over 30 years and you can’t last that long if you don’t treat your customers right. Our success is only possible if you succeed in the cattle business as well. Talk to me about our 100% 1st breeding season guarantee on each bull we sell.

People sometimes ask, “Why should I use a Simm/Angus bull in my herd versus a purebred bull?” I think there is a place for both. If you have a herd of purebred cows you will get the most hybrid vigor from a purebred bull of a different breed than your cows. If you have crossbred cows (such as Simm/Angus) then you might want to use Simm/Angus bulls to maintain the percentage of Simmental and Angus in your herd. At any rate, crossbreeding gives you more fertility, more weight per calf, healthier cattle, longevity in your cow herd, better carcass values, and on and on. I believe the complementarity between Angus and Simmental gives us the ideal animal for profitability in our environment. Last winter, we sold our steers at Lemmon Livestock on January 14th. They weighed 898 lbs and brought $92.50 per cwt. I thanked the order buyer who bought them and he said “Thank you for bringing a great set of steers today.  They’re just what my customers are looking for.” I believe that Simm/Angus cattle are what the feeders and packers want.  The bulls look great! Their mid-point ADG is right on target with an average of 3.57 lbs/day per bull. Come and see them if you can.

Remember, we have over 43 years AI use with 40 years devoted to Simmental cattle.  We live in southwest North Dakota, our cattle must adapt and thrive in extreme weather conditions.  Most importantly, integrity and reliability are the marks of trustworthiness.  We aren’t perfect, but we seek after God’s righteousness.

We appreciate your input and value you as a customer.  Please stop by the ranch any time to visit and look at our operation at your convenience.
